Zachary Israel « Zach » Braff (né le 6 avril 1975) est un acteur, scénariste, producteur et réalisateur américain. Braff s'est fait connaître en 2001 pour son rôle du Dr John Dorian dans la série télévisée Scrubs, qui lui a valu sa première nomination aux Emmy Awards. Braff a continué à travailler sur Scrubs pendant huit ans, jusqu'à ce qu'il annonce son départ en tant qu'acteur, son dernier épisode ayant été diffusé en décembre 2009. Braff a toutefois endossé le rôle de producteur exécutif de la série. En 2004, Braff a fait ses débuts en tant que réalisateur avec Garden State, un film sur le passage à l'âge adulte. Braff est retourné dans son État natal, le New Jersey, pour tourner le film, qui a été produit avec un budget de 2,5 millions de dollars. Le film a rapporté plus de 35 millions de dollars au box-office et a également généré des bénéfices grâce aux ventes de DVD. Il a été salué par la critique, offrant à Braff son premier succès financier et la reconnaissance critique dans le domaine cinématographique. Braff a écrit le film, y a joué et a sélectionné et produit la bande originale, pour laquelle il a remporté un Grammy Award du meilleur album de bande originale en 2005. Braff est également connu pour avoir joué dans les films The Last Kiss et The Ex, ainsi que pour son travail de doublage dans Chicken Little. En 1993, il a obtenu un second rôle dans Manhattan Murder Mystery de Woody Allen, un rôle qui marquera ses débuts au cinéma. Braff affirme qu'il continuera à écrire et à réaliser des films dans les années à venir.
